KDJ dedicated and launch his second single “I Like The Way” for Albert Gayo’s birthday.

I would like to thank KDJ Olushola an upcoming African gospel artist rapper for dedicating this wonderful music video “I Like The Way” today on my birthday. I am humbled and happy for such a wonderful step.

Also for our DOP Mj Madrideo for acknowledging such a step and all our talents and artists involved in this amazing production.

We had fun, excitement and dedication as we all worked together to come out with such an amazing production, thank you team for a great filming experience.

This is the 7th music video production I did and it is always fun and full of laughter compare to the more serious corporate video or TVC or drama films, and I must admit after being a semi finalist for the Carribean Film Festival and official entry to Indiewise Miami Filmfest of KDJ first single “If No Be God” I know and feel that this one is going to be even better and more celebrated.

Thank you once again KDJ for another exciting music and we always look forward to more of your inspiring, exhilarating, and wonderful rhythm on celebrating with God, and thank you for giving me this honor on my special day.

Filming Ghanian Prophet Bernard’s Alfresa Taylor

It was another exciting weekend when we were invited once again by Greater Light Ministry, first for KDJ to perform “If No Be God” at their worship gathering and second to hear Destiny House Ghanian Prophet Bernard Alfresa Taylor.

His presence is indeed commanding, his messages are relevant and in tune with today’s concerns and his delivery was awesome, his style of preaching his message was unusual, he uses a lot of guttural sounds as if speaking from another dimension and one is captivated easily as if in a trance.

He also continuously delivers his messages without stop and pause for at least 15 to 20 minutes even more, as you can see below he is indeed learned on how to control his voice, particularly on a microphone.

Seeing him deliver his messages with such power and strength is indeed a sight to behold and I and KDJ enjoyed the experience immensely.

We would also like to thank Pastor Eky Phil of Greater Light Church Ministry for extending us the invitation and the whole congregation for their warm welcome to us and we look forward to the next one.

The film was edited into three parts for you to have a closer look at this remarkable prophet and his messages below.

Directing KDJ Music Video aboard Majesty 44 Yacht.

Just finished directing the 2nd music video of KDJ entitled “I Like The Way” on Majesty 44 Yacht from Royal Blue Coast.

I was slightly worried at the start because of the big waves and the strong wind, the first hour was a struggle trying our best to stabilize the camera but because of the wind and waves we were all over the place.

Then after an hour, we manage to have a good footing to set up the camera, but because of the weather and humidity all our cameras were having their moist on all lenses, we then have to wait for more time until the moist cleared up.

By this time our DOP Mj Madrideo has vomited, his assistant Mike also felt dizzy and decided to have a nap and I hold on well and drunk lots of soda, by the time we reached the Palm Jumeirah area the waves went down a bit, Mj and Mike was better and we started rolling.

During all these our cast headed by Mico Angles, JCJKI Dancers, Ariel Diaz Cativo, Arlene Diaz Cativo, Hyd’z Zehcnas, Olugna Beberly Verana Cativo, were having a great time doing their selfie and rehearsing the shoot, we also would like to thank Francesz Elyssah Marie for the sumptuous cake she made.

While these things are happening, our singer KDJ had all the patience waiting, cajoling, anticipating for everyone’s next move and was so happy on the final result.

As the saying goes “If you have patience it always work out at the end” and that is certainly what happened, the last 30 minutes with the beautiful sunset and that magic hour gave us a mesmerizing time and came out with the magical music video.

It is now under post production and will definitely share it to all of you guys later on.

Film is an Art but also a Business.

We always think that filmmakers job is to make films because we are artist, it is actually one of the most exciting art forms because as filmmakers we can create new life, we can create a new world new hope, new beginning, yet after we had created this and bring to life a story from our imagination what’s next?

We then want to share it with as many people as we can reach, we want to tell them the story that we created, show them the new world, the new person we gave life to and this is where the business side starts.

As one of the famous director Werner Herzog said ”Film is an Art but it’s also a business” yes, filmmakers, it is not enough to have the finished film in our hands if no one or there is not enough people to watch it.

We should find a way to screen it to as many people as we can, to as much crowd as we can to show them the new world we created, the new characters we gave life to and maybe they will be able to sympathize with our creations or be with or against them

Once in a while we get bashers that do not understand our films or the world we created, do not be discouraged for we know what is involve in the process, we filmmakers do not make films for certain individuals, we make films to tell them the story we know to the best of our abilities using the tools we have the camera and lights.

If one way or the other some people get to change their actions, beliefs, or understanding because of what we have shown them then we won.

“Year After” is the first feature film written, and directed by Dubai-based Filipino OFW filmmaker Albert Gayo who is also one of the stars of the film, “After I wrote, produced and directed over 15 short films and documentaries in which 7 of them were selected and 2 semi-finalist at various International Film Festival, I decided to come out with my first feature film”

“Year After” is a story of unconditional love, friendship, and betrayal starring Angelo Carl, Arnel Hasigan, Lorenz Binghay, Albert Gayo, Carl Lorenz Melias, Kenzo Garcia, and Beth Castillano, coming soon in cinemas near you.

Ecstatic in being a Semi-Finalist for one of my films…

Thesis Film Black and White PosterI’m ecstatic once again for receiving another laurel for one of the latest videos I directed this year from the Carribean Film Festival & Market 2017 which makes it my 4th Laurel for 2017.

I would like to thank our singer artist KDJ for the wonderful music and of course, our DOP and editor MJ Madrideo for the job well done, I have entered this music video for about 5 International Film  Festivals and this is the first one that gave the feedback.

Also, I’m glad and happy that KDJ is now writing his next song that we hope to shoot again very soon, the sleepless nights and hard work of the artist and crew paid off, just becoming an official selection for International Festivals, where thousands of entries are reviewed, is a humbling experience for all of us and we ought it all to God.

And for us filmmakers this is one sign that we must be doing something right to be included in such prestigious awards, thank you for the jurors, and judges who voted for our film.

So far 3 of my films will be shown in Indiewise Filmfest in Miami on 25-27th August this year, “Cities With A Heart”, Airport to Takseem Square” and “If No Be God”.

This gives me even more encouragement and determination for our upcoming feature films to be shown this year, “Before Suicide” with Robert Cristina Trif and “Year After” with Angelo Carl and Arnel Hasigan.

Filming Patience Ozokwo Part 2

Evangelist Patience Ozokwo Part1-3Finally done and finished the Part 2 of Nigerian actress evangelism for Greater Light Ministry and one last part to edit and I can then move on to my other films.

It was refreshing to once again hear her messages and her passion in sharing the messages of our Lord through the gospel scripture. One can feel her passion and her true love to our almighty as Pastor Phil Eky Okoh said she is a “woman of God” and she is indeed.

Her boldness in saying the truth that doesn’t care to any listeners, her voice when she sings that is full of conviction and her body language as she delivers the messages is something to learn from.

The way she owns the stage and how her messages pierce our heart is commendable, as she says, in the beginning, it is not her but the Holy Ghost that delivers the message through her.

But once she is out of the stage, she transforms into a silent, meek, and private person that is very approachable and always have a ready smile.

I look forward working with her once again soon.
