Filming Ghanian Prophet Bernard’s Alfresa Taylor

It was another exciting weekend when we were invited once again by Greater Light Ministry, first for KDJ to perform “If No Be God” at their worship gathering and second to hear Destiny House Ghanian Prophet Bernard Alfresa Taylor.

His presence is indeed commanding, his messages are relevant and in tune with today’s concerns and his delivery was awesome, his style of preaching his message was unusual, he uses a lot of guttural sounds as if speaking from another dimension and one is captivated easily as if in a trance.

He also continuously delivers his messages without stop and pause for at least 15 to 20 minutes even more, as you can see below he is indeed learned on how to control his voice, particularly on a microphone.

Seeing him deliver his messages with such power and strength is indeed a sight to behold and I and KDJ enjoyed the experience immensely.

We would also like to thank Pastor Eky Phil of Greater Light Church Ministry for extending us the invitation and the whole congregation for their warm welcome to us and we look forward to the next one.

The film was edited into three parts for you to have a closer look at this remarkable prophet and his messages below.

Another Exciting Night of Filming Glimpse Live Band.

a film by Albert Gayo.Filmmakers do not seem to go wrong when filming live band because it is full of actions, the crowds, the music, the lights and of course the sound there never seem a dull moment, but filming it can be a bit boring if one is not careful.

Glimpse band is one of the best if not the best in the live band club scene here in Dubai they perform every night at Boracay Club at Asiana Hotel and their repertoire includes the latest songs from the great artist.

Included here is their cover song Che Che Chere Che & Rockabye with over 2 million viewers in youtube channel, it must be daunting for a band to perform a song where lots of people are familiar with, but Glimpse Band performs it with gusto and their rhythm is almost like the original records.

There are times when I’m having a hard time in editing the film because I don’t want to lose any moment and to make it more interesting I thought I try to play with colors, watch it below and you will know what I mean.

Filming Glimpse Band the second time around is indeed a pleasure but next time I’ll make sure I’ll come without my camera and just watch and enjoy the music they play and hopefully dance with their wonderful rhythm.

Enjoy the clip and if you want to see them live they perform every night at Boracay Club, Asiana Hotel, Deira Dubai.

Filming “Glimpse Band” Live at Boracay Club

Glimpse Masquerade

Filming Glimpse Band was an adrenaline pumping experience, the place was superb, the lights, atmosphere, and song selection were electrifying.

You can tell the crowd was having a great time as they gyrate to the sound of every ryhtym of the band, and as I spun the camera around to get the right shot, the smile and yell of the crowd shows their appreciation.

I’ve always like filming handheld for so long and this is the first time Mj one of my amazing DOP introduced me to use a stabilizer, I found it huge and uncomfortable at the start but did my best to use it and I must admit that it made a lot of difference in the final output.

The footages were definitely amazing, you can see it down below and I am really happy and proud of the results. And the band was really on top of their performance especially the dancing tunes like Bailando, Despacito, and others.

With the special theme night of “Masquerade Party” the staff gping around with their mask adds mystery to the whole night, the wonderful receptionist with their gold brocade outfit looks like they came out from the “Phantom of the Opera” play.

It was definitely a night to remember, not that I learned the difference of using stabilizer on my cam but at the same time gyrated to the exhilarating, electrifying, and ecstatic rythym of Dylan Silva and “Glimpse Band”

Certainly a nght for the books, watch and experience this wonderful event by watching the video below and don’t forget they will be having “Burlesque Night” for this coming September , see you at Boracay Club, Asiana Hotel.

Selected for AM Egypt Film Festival

Evangelist Patience Ozokwo Part1-2I’m over the moon for selecting my film to be shown at the AM Egypt Film Festival 2017 knowing that more people will once again be able to watch my film and savor its message.

I found it amazing how this film has survived and still be appreciated by a worldwide audience for the last 3 years, We shoot this film in 2014 and it is still going strong among the film festivals around the world.

This is a story of a filmmaker who goes around the world looking for cities with a heart, cities that react and takes care of disabled people in the street, cities that take cares of its citizens.

We filmmakers have a responsibility to communicate and tell our viewers of what is happening around us, to let our audience move to action, to  let our audience think of the best way to live life to the fullest on top of entertaining themselves, I always believe that we should leave the audience something to think about on how to improve their situation or situations of their neighbors.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the festivals that have included my film in their selection through the years, New York Audience Now Filmfest, Big Arthouse Chicago Filmfest, Wiper Filmfest, Emirates Short Filmfest, International Open Short Filmfest in Bangladesh, Indiewise Miami Filmfest, and now AM Egypt Filmfest.

Thank you and I now look forward to my first feature film “Year After” to be released in the cinemas soon.

Know the HEART of men..

_MG_5510Know the heart of men, learn how to get to the heart of your subject and shape your story. A great story revolves around this, once you know the heart of men because every heart has different needs, laughter, hope, inspiration, and lots more, every heart yearns for something beyond comprehension.

That is why most of the classic films, remembered, awarded and the ones that stick to our minds are films that deals with the heart, this is a universal language, a language understood by every human being and often times even by animals.

Stories that touch the heart of men will always linger through eternity and beyond, there are times when stories told or movies have all the qualities to be a blockbuster but if it has no heart it will then be easily forgotten.

Think of all the great films you saw through the years and think of what you remember, the music, cinematography, locations but most of all we remember the characters and the way they handle their heart issues.

One of Albert Gayo’s short films “Cities with a Heart” was shown in international film festivals such as New York Audience Now, Big Arthouse Chicago, and Indiewise Miami Filmfest, Wiper Filmfest, and also a semi-finalist for Short International Open Filmfest in Bangladesh, “Crystal Wish” won Best Actress for Emirates Short Film Festival, his recent music video “If No Be God” is also a semi-finalist for Caribbean Market Filmfest and Indiewise Miami Filmfest on top of his other 3 films that were also shown in different international screenings.

Now, Albert has already received invitations to screen his first feature film “Year After” in various International Film Festival around the world.

“Year After” is a story of best friend James and Carlo that turned sour after 9 years of friendship because of James wife, but after one year they accidentally met each other once again and realized their needs of depending from one another. What are you willing to do for your best friend? will you love your friend to the extent of losing your family? these and lots more are going to be tackled by “Year After” starring Angelo Carl, Arnel Hasigan, Albert Gayo, Lawrence Binghay , Beth Castillano and Carl Lorenz, coming soon to cinemas near you.

Inspire your cast and crew…

The power of leading by example to inspire your cast and crew. As the director of the film everyone looks upon you, from the time you enter the set until the very last minute, so make sure that you inspire your cast and crew.

The way you handle a different situation, the way you make decisions to as simple as talking to the grip or makeup artist or even to the caterer everyone’s eye is on the director.

It’s not easy to handle lots of people because each one feels their responsibility to deliver and give you the best performance they can offer, they have each their concern to handle so we have to be easy on them.

Inspiring the cast and crew does not only involve how good the film is but how good the director attitude is while filming, give them the best of ourselves, treat them the way we want to be treated.

“Year After” is a movie written, produced, and directed by OFW filmmaker Albert Gayo based on true story that looks at the life of best friends James and Carlo and their hopes, struggles, betrayal, and beauty of life in the Middle East, starring Arnel Hasigan, Angel Carl, Lorenz Binghay, Carl Lorenz Melias, Kenzo Garcia, and Beth Castillano, coming soon to cinemas near you.
