Albert as a Networker..

AL RED CAM

Albert as a Filmmaker..

I always thought of the difference between the two and tried to find a common ground, I love making films and enjoy every minute of it, from writing my scripts to the actual shoot to the tedious art of editing, and it is a beautiful process, but what stops or hinder most of us filmmakers is the lack of funds, budgets, finances, most of the time we scrape even our basic means just to finish one film that we hope will catapult us to the big boys. But it goes back to the main problem, BUDGET.

Then I found the solution, hence comes Network Marketing, I’ve never tried networking before and I started to watch lots of youtube materials, read lots of books, researched and met people who do it, Erik Worre one of the Professional Network Marketer showed me wonderful, amazing, interesting concepts and processes that if followed will surely bring result.

I put filmmaking on the side and started to follow AIM Global trainer Sir TJ Villanueva with his interesting, wonderful, and tedious process and amazingly it started to open my mind to another level of network marketing that started to give me the big result.

Now I know that if I continue my networking practices now in just another year I will be able to shoot all my scripts of films and I will not be worried about funding anymore because of the result of my network marketing I will have enough funds to shoot them all and even start producing other filmmakers films.

So what difference do I find between the two? Nothing they actually complement each other, my networking journey is giving me the chance to meet lots of inspiring stories from people from all walks of life, as I share the opportunity it prepares me to have the finances and budgets I need to shoot such inspirational films and show them to the world.

Starting today with proud and honor I say I’m a filmmaker and a network marketer, I make films and make millionaires…

What is important Love or Money?

This is one topic that is commonly addressed by almost everyone, the importance of one compared to the other has divided a lot of people in a lot of reason, I’m sure each one of us can and will be able to relate himself once way or the other.

Filming myself convince each other for a lot of hundred reasons almost make me laugh, because of its reality, I personally believe in both, that Love and money are both important in this world.

But come to think of it, if I am asked to choose between the two, it will really make me think for so long and might not even come out with the right answer or right argument, so to be able to have both of my answer in one film gives me more freedom to express myself and my reasons.

Love or money? That is the question and both will be able to give you a wonderful answer or reason but as they always said, the experience is the best teacher, so if you prefer one over the other, think again for a second and then realize your reason.

Through time immemorial love has conquered kingdoms, countries, and states but at the same time it did act with enough resources at the helm, there was never love alone and yet this thing we call love is so powerful that it can move mountain and seas.

Yet if love is supported by enough wealth, then only then that it can ever be more meaningful like when the whole army took Helen of Troy, love, and money together they conquer.

Filming “Glimpse Band” Live at Boracay Club

Glimpse Masquerade

Filming Glimpse Band was an adrenaline pumping experience, the place was superb, the lights, atmosphere, and song selection were electrifying.

You can tell the crowd was having a great time as they gyrate to the sound of every ryhtym of the band, and as I spun the camera around to get the right shot, the smile and yell of the crowd shows their appreciation.

I’ve always like filming handheld for so long and this is the first time Mj one of my amazing DOP introduced me to use a stabilizer, I found it huge and uncomfortable at the start but did my best to use it and I must admit that it made a lot of difference in the final output.

The footages were definitely amazing, you can see it down below and I am really happy and proud of the results. And the band was really on top of their performance especially the dancing tunes like Bailando, Despacito, and others.

With the special theme night of “Masquerade Party” the staff gping around with their mask adds mystery to the whole night, the wonderful receptionist with their gold brocade outfit looks like they came out from the “Phantom of the Opera” play.

It was definitely a night to remember, not that I learned the difference of using stabilizer on my cam but at the same time gyrated to the exhilarating, electrifying, and ecstatic rythym of Dylan Silva and “Glimpse Band”

Certainly a nght for the books, watch and experience this wonderful event by watching the video below and don’t forget they will be having “Burlesque Night” for this coming September , see you at Boracay Club, Asiana Hotel.

Art Direction for Sports Channel Promo

IMG-2930.JPGIMG-2922.JPGFinished another Art direction for a sports channel football pilot promo and happy with the result as always.

It is always fun to Art direct and builds a set with a team especially once you have something in your mind and vision and see it completed. Also, if you have a good director to work with like Moneer Barakat.

Once again we teamed up with RGB Production and some cast from our last Burger King World Cup shoot and it’s like going back in time but more fun as ever.

The props we used were interesting especially the scarecrow and other items, the whole team is looking forward to shooting the next few series after this wonderful, exciting and commendable pilot.

The camera crew with our DOP Elias and their assistants with Erik and the lighting guys had another wonderful result with ALEXA and the wardrobe, hair & makeup are as always on top of their art form.

Thank you once again, Jibu and Ashwin from RGB Production for another job well done.

Music for Filmmakers…

_MG_5520Music will dictate the mood of your FILM

Music and rhythm can make or break your film mood, this is one aspect we have to be very careful when it comes to films post production because it can give you the overall mood of your film and the wrong music can ruin what you’ve worked for.

Up until now there is music that gives us the memories of the film, look at “My Heart Will Go On” once we hear, it reminds us of Titanic, “Can You Read My Mind” that gives us the scene of Superman and Lois Lane, theme song from “Bodyguard” with the beautiful voice of Whitney Houston and lots more.

There are times when people remember the movie soundtrack more than the film itself and that is how powerful a music can add to the film, so if you are about to give a musical score to your film, take your time, listen to options, remember that your music can do a lot for your film.

And that is why I am not in a hurry for “Year After” post production because I want to make sure that the music we ‘re to add on is something the audience will remember for a very long time.

“Year After” is a story of unconditional love, friendship. longing and betrayal, written, produced, and directed by Albert Gayo starring Angelo Carl, Arnel Hasigan, Lorenz Binghay, Kenzo Garcia, and Carl Lorenz, coming soon to cinemas near you.

“Year After” invited for International Film Festivals.

After writing, producing, and directing about 15 short films, documentaries, and TVC, Middle East OFW Filmmaker Albert Gayo is preparing feature film “Year After” for international screenings.

“Year After” is a story of best friend James and Carlo that turned sour after 9 years of friendship because of James wife but after one year they accidentally meet each other once again not realizing their needs of depending on each other. What are you willing to do for your best friend? will you love your friend to the extent of losing your family? these and lots more are going to be tackled by “Year After” starring Angelo Carl, Arnel Hasigan, Albert Gayo and Lawrence Binghay.

One of Albert Gayo’s short films “Cities with a Heart” was shown in international film festivals such as New York Audience Now, Big Arthouse Chicago, and Indiewise Miami Filmfest and was a semi-finalist for International Open Filmfest in Bangladesh, his recent music video “If No Be God” is also a semi-finalist for Caribbean Market Filmfest on top of his other 3 films that were also shown in different international screenings.

Now, we have received invitations to screen our first feature film “Year After” in various International Film Festival in different parts of the world and I feel humbled and privileged at the same time.

It is one of filmmakers dream to have his film shown to as many people as possible and to as many screenings around the world and with the advent of the internet through the proper channel, it is now easier to have the elusive worldwide showing.

“Year After” written, produced, and directed by Albert Gayo starring Angleo Carl, Arnel Hasigan, Lorenz Binghay,  Carl Melias and Albert Gayo coming soon to cinemas near you.

Ecstatic in being a Semi-Finalist for one of my films…

Thesis Film Black and White PosterI’m ecstatic once again for receiving another laurel for one of the latest videos I directed this year from the Carribean Film Festival & Market 2017 which makes it my 4th Laurel for 2017.

I would like to thank our singer artist KDJ for the wonderful music and of course, our DOP and editor MJ Madrideo for the job well done, I have entered this music video for about 5 International Film  Festivals and this is the first one that gave the feedback.

Also, I’m glad and happy that KDJ is now writing his next song that we hope to shoot again very soon, the sleepless nights and hard work of the artist and crew paid off, just becoming an official selection for International Festivals, where thousands of entries are reviewed, is a humbling experience for all of us and we ought it all to God.

And for us filmmakers this is one sign that we must be doing something right to be included in such prestigious awards, thank you for the jurors, and judges who voted for our film.

So far 3 of my films will be shown in Indiewise Filmfest in Miami on 25-27th August this year, “Cities With A Heart”, Airport to Takseem Square” and “If No Be God”.

This gives me even more encouragement and determination for our upcoming feature films to be shown this year, “Before Suicide” with Robert Cristina Trif and “Year After” with Angelo Carl and Arnel Hasigan.
